The Bridge Inn is a lovely community pub known for its unique features and great real ale.

The pub is known locally as The Trust but has previously been named the Tweedside Inn because of its magnificent river views from its terrace and beer garden and the mosaic tiles at the entrance are from its time as The Tweedside. bridge-inn-interiorThe pub is a listed building which is over 100 years old and has a gorgeous bay window which looks stunning when the hanging baskets are out in the summer. A display for which the pub has won awards.

‘The old Twyford Adamant porcelain urinals are still in use today – women have often asked to peep in to see them – when it’s empty of gentlemen of course!’

Another unique feature of The Bridge is the Gents’ toilets. The old Twyford Adamant porcelain urinals are still in use today with their shiny brass pipes. They continue to be a talking point with both visitors and locals and women have often asked to peep in to see them – when it’s empty of gentlemen of course! We have a fantastic gantry of malt whiskies and a great choice of real ales on handpump and our ales have been getting CAMRA’s stamp of approval for many years. There are many tales to tell of goings on in the pub so pop in and ask to hear about our pet Robin and Elvis or the infamous sheep shearing contest or you might be lucky enough to bump into Ian Rankin.
