Markie Dans is situated in the basement of a beautiful old Victorian building set on the picturesque Oban Esplanade with amazing sea views to the Isle of Kerrera and the hills of Mull.
The pub is steeped in local tradition and history and is named after a local fisherman who died during the construction of the bar. He was a worthy gentleman who enjoyed a wee dram and a good blether. The pub is adorned with local Victorian pictures and old Oban Times newspaper clippings which provides a warm feeling of nostalgia.

We boast the best beer garden in Oban along with the largest selection of malt whiskies – we have over 100! We have had many famous faces across the threshold including Phil Proctor and Neil Oliver. Also, a television crew filmed part of an episode of Channel 4’s Three Hungry Boys in our humble little pub!
